Notes of chocolate, hazelnut and forest fruits

This coffee is a certified organic blend, it is produced in the terroir of Palma centra, near the San Andres waterfalls at 2100 meters above sea level.

In Peru, it is quite common for bigger coffee buyer to buy certified coffee much cheaper than the price of commodity coffee because they then lower the bill thanks to the purchase of a larger volume of non-certified coffee. It is really difficult in these conditions for organic coffee producers to promote their production and their certification. This wonderful organic coffee comes directly from Coopagro, which allows us to fairly remunerate producers. We buy this coffee at a fixed price, according to our specifications while taking into account the cost of coffee production. No stock market, no speculation. Simple, straightforward, traceable and sustainable. This coffee is for us a way of changing, if only a tiny bit, industry practices in order to embody, through our actions, the change we want for the coffee sector.

The terroir of Palma Central is located in the province of Jaén in the Cajamarca region, in the extreme north of Peru near the Ecuadorian border.

This terroir is close to Huabal terroir located on the top of the city of Jaen. Coffee producers often have plots of less than 2 hectares. The low volumes of coffee produced make it impossible to export coffee as an independent producer. As a result, the producers have united to form a cooperative to export.

This coffee includes the production of 6 coffee growers in the area, located at high altitude. Prepared by the producers themselves, the coffee is sold to the cooperative in parchments,  before processing and sorting.
