THE REGION OF Huila
We’re on a mission to restore the good name of decaf coffee.
This beautiful decaf comes from the Huila region of Colombia. It is a regional blend from diverse farming families, showcasing their commitment to exceptional quality. Huila is well regarded as one of Colombia’s top coffee growing regions. Clouds blanket the sky over the mountainous region shielding the coffee plants from direct sunlight, while the fertile soils at altidudes of 1400 to 1800m above sea level nurture their growth with an ambient temperature all year round of 20c. In this captivating region, coffee is manually harvested throughout the year resulting in a continuous supply of exceptional decaf beans.

This regional decaf coffee from Huila in Colombia goes through a sugar cane process to naturally leave its caffeine content in Colombia before starting its journey to Ireland. Ethyl Acetate, already present in coffee, fruit and vegetables happens to be very good at removing caffeine so Ethyl Acetate is combined with high mountain spring water to gently remove the caffeine from the coffee. It is a Mountain Water Decaf coffee that is decaffeinated naturally with water and without using any chemical processes or solvents, guaranteeing a pleasant sweetness in the cup. It is a process that preserves all the aromatic molecules and the full quality of its flavours.
