Placing fourth in Ethiopia’s prestigious Cup of Excellence 2024, this remarkable 88.75-scoring coffee is a testament to the dedication and craft of Bekele Yutute, a third-generation coffee farmer from Dambi village in Sidama. Nestled in Ethiopia’s highlands, Bekele’s family farm thrives with coffee plants growing alongside bananas, false bananas, and avocados, which provide sustenance for his family. Coffee, however, is their livelihood—a crop that embodies their hopes and hard work.

Harvested between October 2023 and January 2024, this lot showcases the care and precision that define Bekele’s approach. After being hand-picked at peak ripeness, the cherries were meticulously processed at Dambi’s drying station. Every step was carefully monitored, with cherries hand-sorted and dried on raised African beds to ensure the highest quality.

The result is an extraordinary coffee that captures the essence of Sidama’s terroir and Bekele’s unwavering commitment to excellence. With its excellent cup score and captivating story, this coffee is more than a beverage—it’s a celebration of tradition, sustainability, and the pursuit of perfection.
